Carlos Emilio Gonzalez
President, CEMEX Egypt and United Arab Emirates
As the Country President, Mr. Gonzalez is leading CEMEX operations in Egypt and United Arab Emirates, bringing more aggregates industry globally. Previously, Mr. Gonzalez was the President of CEMEX Dominican Republic in charge of the company operations in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Bahamas, and with the support of 1,000 employees he contributed remarkably to shaping the cement and ready-mix industry as well as the development of the housing and infrastructure construction sectors in these countries. Prior to this Mr. Gonzalez was the General Manager of CEMEX Costa Rica heading its operations which included cement, ready mix, aggregates, low income housing, infrastructure construction and construction retail chain of business units. Formerly, he was CEMEX Nicaragua General Manager being in command of CEMEX business facets in Nicaragua and El Salvador. Prior to joining CEMEX, Mr. Gonzalez was a Project Manager at Boston Consulting Group in Mexico working in strategy development for major Latin American corporations in different industries such as glass, pharmaceuticals, chemical products, retail, and consumer products. He started his professional career as a Field Engineer at Schlumberger working in the oil services industry for key oil corporations in the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Mexico.
Benjamín Cabrera
Operations & Technology Vice President, CEMEX Egypt and United Arab Emirates
As the Operations and Technology Vice President of CEMEX Egypt and United Arab Emirates, Mr. Cabrera is accountable for a wide range of responsibilities which encompasses: Safety, cement production process, cement mills, preventive and predictive maintenance, projects & innovation, quality assurance, quarries, raw mills and kilns as well sustainability including environmental affairs and alternative fuels. Mr. Cabrera joined CEMEX in 1996 and today he has 24 years of experience in operations within CEMEX. Prior to his current role, Mr. Cabrera was the Cement Operations & Technical Director for the Dominican Republic and Caribbean and before that Cement Operations Director for Ensenada Plant in Mexico. Mr. Cabrera holds a certificate from Harvard Extension School, master’s degree in safety from UDIMA in Madrid (Spain), an MBA from ITESM (México) and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from ITESO (México).
Rafael Augusto Villalona
Vice President Commercial and Logistics, CEMEX Egypt
As the Distribution Channels Vice President, Mr. Villalona is responsible for the commercial and marketing strategy for cement at CEMEX Egypt. He is also responsible for the logistics operations, warehouse network and the multi-products business. Mr. Villalona also oversees the supply chain of United Arab Emirates. Mr. Villalona joined CEMEX in 2007 where he has held multiple executive positions. Prior to Egypt, he has been the Country Director for CEMEX Haiti, Country Manager for CEMEX Jamaica and Technical-Commercial Advisor for CEMEX Dominican Republic. Known for his passion and relentless work ethic, Mr. Villalona has directed or managed all the core business units of cement, ready mix and aggregates, as well as the secondary units of lime, infrastructure and housing. In his assignments, he has achieved record breaking results in sales, free cash flow, return on capital employed and cash value added. He was also Commercial Ambassador for the South, Central America and Caribbean region where he trained over 200 commercial executives. Mr. Villalona has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University (USA) and a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Maryland (USA).
Jorge Lozano
Strategic Planning Vice President, CEMEX Egypt and United Arab Emirates.
As of his position Mr. Lozano is responsible for strategic planning and business development for both Egypt and United Arab Emirates. He first joined CEMEX in 2000, and since then and for the past 19 years Mr. Lozano has been assigned various positions in the fields of strategic planning and commercial through which he greatly supported CEMEX operations and contributed to the company’s growth. Previous to his current position, Mr. Lozano was the Strategic Planning Vice President of CEMEX Colombia, and prior to that he was the Commercial Development Director for the Distribution Segment of CEMEX Mexico. Mr. Jorge holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business (USA) and a BS in Industrial Engineering from ITESM (Mexico).
Marwa Youssef
Procurement Director, CEMEX Egypt and United Arab Emirates.
As the Procurement Director, Mrs. Marwa Youssef is leading the procurement team to secure and facilitate the company’s needed supply of Fuels, Alternative Fuels and Raw Material, utilization of capital expenditure and logistical processes as well as sourcing for business related services and corporate needs. Mrs. Youssef and her team made CEMEX Egypt a highly cost-efficient business unit and the one with the highest quality materials in a timely manner which contributed to the continuous growth of CEMEX Egypt. Mrs. Youssef is also responsible for constantly coordinating with both the regional and global teams to avail supply alternatives for the company and its operations. Since she joined CEMEX in 2005, Mrs. Youssef worked in the finance department. She was assigned to various position including Treasury and Financial Information & Risk Management. Mrs. Youssef worked closely with business unit Finance and provided support to CEMEX Egypt businesses in a manner consistent with the objectives of CEMEX group. Her responsibilities related to tracking and accounting for company assets and investment projects in compliance with IFRS company policies and statutory requirements ensured reducing risk by complying to approvals and asserting that controls are intact. Mrs. Youssef is a Euromoney Certified Treasury Manager holding a BSc in Commerce – English Section from Ain Shams University
Tarek Hammam
Vice President Ready Mix & Institutional Sales, CEMEX Egypt
Mr. Tarek Hammam is the Vice President of Institutional Sales & Ready Mix responsible for ready mix operations as well as construction services for multiple customer segments which include builders/developers, government, and industrial manufacturers. Mr. Hammam joined CEMEX Egypt in 2002, and for the past 15 years he was appointed a number of positions mainly in the areas of commercial and ready mix where he capitalized on his vast experience in the building materials industry to contribute to the progress of CEMEX operations in Egypt. Prior to his current position, Mr. Hammam was the Sales Director of Lower Egypt Distribution Channels, External Markets and Damietta Terminal mainly in charge of setting the selling strategies, handling the exports of CEMEX Egypt, and exploring business opportunities in the Northern African region. Before this he served as a Technical and Area Sales Manager responsible for all the construction companies and real estate developers in Egypt as well as a set of CEMEX retail channels in Egypt. Mr. Tarek Hammam holds an MBA from Maastricht School of Management (MSM) in Netherlands and a BSc in Civil Engineering from Cairo University.
Wafik Beshara
Human Resources Vice President, CEMEX Egypt and United Arab Emirates.
As the Vice President of Human Resources, Mr. Wafik Beshara is in charge of the Human Resources development and training, compensation and benefits, and labor relations, as well as the health, safety & security at CEMEX Egypt and United Arab Emirates. Since he joined CEMEX in 2001, Mr. Beshara was assigned several leading positions that enriched his career and outstandingly supported the operations of CEMEX in Egypt. Prior to his current role he was appointed executive positions in the areas of Strategic Planning, Marketing Research and Commercial Administration. Mr. Wafik Beshara holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School in Scotland and a BSc in Computer Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology.
Galal Abdel Samei
Business Service Organization Director, CEMEX Egypt
As Business Service Organization Director Mr. Galal Abdel Samie is responsible for management and financial services, transactional services, treasury, process & information technology, internal control, tax compliance, and HR services. Mr. Abdel Samei joined CEMEX in 2000, and served in several previous positions including Financial Information Manager, Accounts Payable and General Ledger Manager, Cost and Fixed Assets Manager. Prior to being a member of CEMEX team, Mr. Abdel Samei was the Accounting Manager of Assiut Cement Company that was acquired by CEMEX in 1999. Mr. Abdel Samei is also a board member in the Commerce Syndicate in Assiut. Mr. Galal Abdel Samei holds an Audit Diploma from Assiut University in Egypt, a Diploma in Engineering Economy from Tabeen Institute for Metallurgical Studies, an MIBA from ESLSCA French Business School, and a BA in Accounting from Helwan University in Egypt.
Khaled Ghazy
General Counsel, CEMEX Egypt
Mr. Khaled Ghazy is the head of legal affairs department at CEMEX Egypt. He enjoys over 20 years of diversified experience in legal practice. Khaled is a member of the Egypt Bar Association, also has an extensive experience in trial and pretrial justice. Prior to joining CEMEX, Mr. Khaled Ghazy was the Head of Legal Affairs at the worlds’ largest producer of white cement; Sinai White Cement Co., a subsidiary of Cementir Holding. Prior to this role, he was a Management Committee Member & Head of Contracts and Legal Affairs at Dar Petroleum Operating Company; the largest oil operating company in East Africa. Prior to his role in oil industry, Mr. Khaled Ghazy was a Regional Legal Advisor at the International Red Cross. Previously, Mr. Khaled Ghazy spent nine years in the Egyptian judiciary where he held various positions including senior prosecutor and presiding judge. Before joining the judiciary, Khaled started his career life as a private international law teaching assistant at Cairo University. Khaled obtained LL.B (1997) from Cairo University and M.A. (2005) from the American University in Cairo.
Zeinab Hegazy
Strategic Communication & Public Affairs Director, CEMEX Egypt and United Arab Emirates.
Mrs. Zeinab Hegazy is the Director of Strategic Communication, Public affairs as well as community & stakeholder relations. Mrs. Hegazy joined CEMEX in 2001, and since then, she was appointed several diverse positions mainly in the Accounting, Internal Audit, Business Process. Prior to her current position, Mrs. Zeinab built a progressive experience in Human Resources where she shaped the compensation scheme at CEMEX and contributed to developing human capital including talent management & succession planning. Mrs. Hegazy has worked for KPMG for 2 years before joining CEMEX. She is an Associate to the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development in United Kingdom (ACIPD), a founding member in Human Power Association (HPA), an Executive Board Member at Assiut Cement Company and the official spokesperson for the company. Mrs. Hegazy holds a BSc in Commerce – English Section from Ain Shams University.
