Assiut Cement Club Inaugurates its Stadium Today, after a Complete Renovation

The board of directors of the Assiut Cement Club inaugurated the team’s stadium today, as the football team is scheduled to host all its upcoming matches on the newly-renovated stadium.

The club’s management desires to contribute to providing a modern football ecosystem that keeps up with the latest in the industry, hence, a comprehensive improvement process was conducted to one of the most important and largest sports facilities in the governorate.

The renovation work for the stadium’s floor, the main cabin of the stadium, changing rooms have been fully completed. Additionally, the gym is now equipped with modern and advanced fitness machines, medical and physical rehabilitation equipment, and other accessories to meet the requirements of the current sports industry and support the government’s efforts to develop the infrastructure of Egyptian sports.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Assiut Cement Club, Eng. Wafik Bishara, and a group of members of the club's first team board.

The Assiut Cement football team is competing in Group A in Premier League (B), where the team occupies the tenth place with 22 points, with the aim that after the return of its training and matches at home, they will start to advance in the table of the Upper Egypt group led by its Spanish coach, Josu González.

Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Assiut Cement Club, Eng. Wafik Bishara, commented on the opening saying: “Our philosophy at Assiut Cement Club is centered on developing academies and youth, which in return has positively affected the sport sector over the past years. Since the resumption of the club’s activities in 2017, we have progressed with steady steps until we reached Premier League (B) by developing the players in terms of athleticism, psychology, health, and culture.” He added: “Our development strategy included all aspects of the sports cycle, especially the facilities renovations that would allow our players to reach the next level.”

Eng. Osama Tamerak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aram Contracting and Supplies Company, the main sponsor of the Assiut Cement Club in the current sports season, said: “We are pleased with our sponsorship of the Assiut Cement Club in line with our plan to support and nurture the youth of Upper Egypt, in addition to developing youth academies in this region,” he added, “We intend to sponsor Assiut Cement Club during the coming period until we reach the Egyptian Premier League together.”

Assiut Cement is considered one of the most important clubs in Upper Egypt, with great popularity and a long history of honorable representation, as the club has a group of teams of different age ranges, and they compete in various football competitions in the Assiut region.

This is the core for the establishment of an integrated sports community within Assiut Governorate, as the club seeks to be the first gateway to reach advanced sports levels and enrich the sports sector in Egypt.

This contributes to providing a comprehensive football system that has its own ethical rules and advanced sports foundations to keep up with the global development of this popular sport and work to spread awareness, sound sports, and health cultures in the surrounding communities.
