CEMEX first dispatch of our improved eco-friendly cement
CEMEX Egypt proudly introduced a new type of eco-friendly Portland Cement. This product has contributed to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by 15-20% and is considered a revolution in the cement industry both in Egypt and globally.
The new product "CEM II / AP (32.5 N) relies on mechanically and chemically processed materials with natural pozzolanic properties that are processed and combined with up to 20% clinker and in accordance with Egyptian and international specifications.
The pozzolanic material reduces the heat of the reaction and the resulting cracks as well as the concrete’s porosity. This product is used in all types of concrete structures such as reinforced buildings, water tanks, roads, bridges and all construction works which are not exposed to sulphate salts. It is also used in industries complementary to the construction industry such as hollow concrete brick industries, tiles and railway linings.
The launch of this new product is part of CEMEX's keenness to preserve the environment. In the Assiut’s cement plant, waste is used as an alternative fuel and the consumption of fuel oil is successfully reduced from 90% to 10%. Introducing this product - which will revolutionize the cement industry in the world - is a crowning achievement for the efforts of the company's employees and leaders in preserving the environment.
