Carlos Emilio Gonzalez

Carlos Emilio Gonzalez

President, CEMEX Egypt

As the Country President, Mr. Gonzalez is leading CEMEX operations in Egypt, brining more than 17 years of executive experience in driving the growth of cement, ready mix and aggregates industry globally. Previously, Mr. Gonzalez was the President of CEMEX Dominican Republic in charge of the company operations in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Bahamas, and with the support of 1,000 employees he contributed remarkably to shaping the cement and ready mix industry as well as the development of the housing and infrastructure construction sectors in these countries. Prior to this Mr. Gonzalez was the General Manager of CEMEX Costa Rica heading its operations which included cement, ready mix, aggregates, low income housing, infrastructure construction and construmara retail chain business units. Formerly, he was CEMEX Nicaragua General Manager being in command of CEMEX business facets in Nicaragua and El Salvador. Prior to joining CEMEX, Mr. Gonzalez was a Project Manager at Boston Consulting Group in Mexico working in strategy development for major Latin American corporations in different industries such as glass, pharmaceuticals, chemical products, retail, and consumer products. He started his professional career as a Field Engineer at Schlumberger working in the oil services industry for key oil corporations in the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Mexico.

In the Dominican Republic, Mr. Carlos Gonzalez was also a Partner in United Partners DR and launched one of the first business incubators and venture capital firms in the Caribbean. Moreover, he was the President of Cámara Dominico Mexicana de Comercio that is a chamber of commerce dedicated to improve the business and cultural relationship between the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Furthermore, Mr. Gonzalez was the President of Asociación Dominicana de Productores de Cemento (ADOCEM) which is a group of cement companies working mainly towards promoting the use of CEMEX products and innovations in the construction industry. He was also the President of the Asociación de Inversion Extranjera, a foreign investment association dedicated to protecting the interest of all foreign companies investing in the Dominican Republic, the association included more than 70 companies representing more than 30% of the country GDP.

Mr. Carlos Gonzalez holds an MBA with a specialization in International Business from Rotterdam School of Management and a BSc in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).

Everardo Sanchez

Vice President Commercial and Logistics, CEMEX Egypt

As the Commercial and Logistics Vice President, Mr. Sanchez is responsible for the commercial and marketing strategy of CEMEX Egypt, and accountable for sales operations of more than half a billion USD per year. He is also responsible for the logistics operations, warehouses network, and the multi-products business.

Mr. Sanchez joined CEMEX in 1998, and for 19 years he has been assigned a series of executive positions at CEMEX Mexico mainly in the field of business development and sales. Prior to his current position he was the Director of Builders Segment Development responsible for the builders segments’ commercial strategy. Previously Mr. Sanchez was the Director of Distribution Channel Development in charge of distribution channels’ strategy at CEMEX. Former to this, he was the Commercial Development Global Leader which aims at strengthening CEMEX value proposition by developing new businesses, value offerings, sharing commercial initiatives and best practices worldwide. Prior to this position Mr. Sanchez was the Director of Multi-products, Bulk and National accounts after being the Regional Sales Director accountable for the Midwest region of CEMEX Mexico. Before this he was appointed an Innovation Director in charge of the innovation strategy of CEMEX Mexico and the implementation and development of innovation processes.

Mr. Everardo Sanchez holds the Certificate of the Executive Program in the field of International Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business, INSEAD and Monterrey TEC, a Global MBA with a specialization in Global Management from Copenhagen Business School, Erasmus University, Reykjavik University, Denver University, ESADE and EGADE Business School, an MSc in Electronics Engineering from CICESE (Center of Scientific Research and Superior Studies of Ensenada), and a BS in Electronics Engineering and Biomedical Instrumentation from ITM (Mexicali’s Technological Institute)

Jesus Garcia Cardenas

Operations & Technology Vice President, CEMEX Egypt

As the Operations and Technology Vice President of CEMEX Egypt Mr. Garcia is accountable for a wide range of responsibilities which encompasses: cement production process, cement mills, preventive and predictive maintenance, projects & innovation, quality assurance, quarries, raw mills and kilns as well sustainability including environmental affairs and alternative fuel . Mr. Garcia joined CEMEX in 2001 and today he has 16 years of experience in operations within CEMEX. Prior to his current role, he served as the Regional Operations and Technical Director of CEMEX Caribbean which covers Haiti, Jamaica, Bahamas, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. Before this Mr. Garcia was the Operations Director of the Ensenada Plant at CEMEX Mexico, and former to this he was the Production Manager of the Tepeaca Plant also in Mexico.

Mr. Jesus Garcia holds a post studies certificate in Electronic Communications from RMIT in Australia and a BSc in Electronic Engineering from UDLA in Mexico.

Mr. Jose Cabrera is currently the Strategic Planning Vice President of CEMEX Egypt as well as the Strategic Planning Vice President of CEMEX AMEA Region which includes Asia, Middle East and Africa. As of his position Mr. Cabrera is responsible for the strategic planning, business development and enterprise risk management for both Egypt and the AMEA Region. He first joined CEMEX in 2000, and since then and for the past 17 years Mr. Cabrera has been assigned various positions in the fields of strategic planning, operations and commercial through which he greatly supported CEMEX operations and contributed to the company growth in the region. Previous to his current position, Mr. Cabrera was the Commercial and Operations Managing Director of CEMEX Spain, and prior to that he was the Strategic Planning Projects Director of CEMEX Spain and the Mediterranean Region.

Mr. Jose Antonio holds an EMBA from the Instituto de Empresa (IE) and a BA in Physics, Automation and Control from Universidad de La Laguna in Spain.

Vice President Ready Mix & Institutional Sales, CEMEX Egypt

Mr. Tarek Hammam is the Vice President of Institutional Sales & Ready Mix responsible for ready mix operations as well as construction services for multiple customer segments which include builders/developers, government, and industrial manufacturers. Mr. Hammam joined CEMEX Egypt in 2002, and for the past 15 years he was appointed a number of positions mainly in the areas of commercial and ready mix where he capitalized on his vast experience in the building materials industry to contribute to the progress of CEMEX operations in Egypt. Prior to his current position, Mr. Hammam was the Sales Director of Lower Egypt Distribution Channels, External Markets and Damietta Terminal mainly in charge of setting the selling strategies, handling the exports of CEMEX Egypt, and exploring business opportunities in the Northern African region. Before this he served as a Technical and Area Sales Manager responsible for all the construction companies and real estate developers in Egypt as well as a set of CEMEX retail channels in Egypt.

Mr. Tarek Hammam holds an MBA from Maastricht School of Management (MSM) in Netherlands and a BSc in Civil Engineering from Cairo University.

As the Vice President of Human Resources, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Mr. Wafik Beshara is in charge of the human recourses development and training, compensation and benefits, labor relations, corporate communications & public affairs, as well as the health, safety & security at CEMEX Egypt.

Since he joined CEMEX in 2001, Mr. Beshara was assigned several leading positions that enriched his career and outstandingly supported the operations of CEMEX in Egypt. Prior to his current role he was appointed executive positions in the areas of Strategic Planning, Marketing Research and Commercial Administration.

Mr. Wafik Beshara holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School in Scotland and a BSc in Computer Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology.


Adel Eissa

Mr. Adel Eissa is in charge of the procurement department of CEMEX Egypt. He is leading the procurement team to secure and facilitate the company needed supply of: raw materials, fuel, spare parts, materials as well business related services. Mr. Eissa has an extensive experience in the procurement field which enables him to bring to CEMEX Egypt the most cost efficient and the highest quality materials in a timely manner which contributes to the continuous growth of CEMEX Egypt. Mr. Eissa is also responsible for constantly coordinating with both the regional and global teams to provide supply alternatives for the company and its operations.

Mr. Adel Eissa holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Helwan University in Egypt.


Galal Abdel Samei

Business Service Organization Director, CEMEX Egypt

As Business Services Organization Director Mr. Galal Abdel Samie is responsible for management and financial services, transactional services, treasury, process & information technology, internal control, tax compliance, and HR services. Mr. Abdel Samei joined CEMEX in 2000, and served in several previous positions including Financial Information Manager, Accounts Payable and General Ledger Manager, Cost and Fixed Assets Manager. Prior to being a member of CEMEX team, Mr. Abdel Samei was the Accounting Manager of Assiut Cement Company that was acquired by CEMEX in 1999. Mr. Abdel Samei is also a board member in the Commerce Syndicate in Assiut.

Mr. Galal Abdel Samei holds an Audit Diploma from Assiut University in Egypt, a Diploma in Engineering Economy from Tabeen Institute for Metallurgical Studies, an MIBA from ESLSCA French Business School, and a BA in Accounting from Helwan University in Egypt.


Magdy Armia Samuel

Legal Director, CEMEX Egypt

Mr. Magdy Armia Samuel is the General Counsel of CEMEX Egypt. Prior to joining CEMEX Mr. Samuel was a member of Afifi Law Office. Mr. Samuel has a vast experience in litigation in front of Civil, Labor, Commercial, and Misdemeanor Courts. He was directly and indirectly involved in more than 850 disputes.

Mr. Magdy Samuel was also the consultant for many multinational companies in issues related to civil, commercial, investment and intellectual properties.
